Villages In High & Low Seasons
High Season includes January through March for obvious reasons. Most visitors come during those months to escape the winter up north. But consider a vacation in our rental home outside of the high season for some very pleasant experiences.
Activities Outside of High Season (April - December)
Obviously, The Villages is popular for escaping the cold winters up north but it has a lot to offer all year. Plus, it cost less in many ways, is less crowded and it is much easier to get a tee time. If you think you can't handle summer in Florida, try it. Many have found their year around home here by doing that.

- May through Sept. are a great time of year: lower golf fees, longer days, reduced crowds everywhere & yet beautiful! Also the Spring and Fall Polo Season apply then (see 'October and November' for approx. schedules).
The Villages Polo Club (This is TOO much fun!! Yes, real Polo with horses!!)
Per their Web site: (approximate dates; dates vary by year, check their schedule)
Fall Season: October 1 through December 5
Spring Season: Mid March through the end of May
- Summer - Enjoy great summer afternoon storms (often no more than an hour long) that make the MOST AMAZING sunsets plus LONG golf days. It makes summer a great time to rent. You are not very far from both beaches - Gulf of Mexico (great white sand) and the Atlantic (more waves and drive on Daytona Beach). Plus:
Summer Golf Twilight Rate: For years, the summer twilight rate for unlimited Championship 18-hole course holes aft 5pm until dark is from $6.00 to $10.00 green fee, depending on the course. For the last few years, this great rate was extended to the end of September. Note: This may have been discontinued so we can check for you but the golf rates (and we think restaurant rates) are definitely lower in low season.
It is easier to get a tee time, especially for a group.
Entertainment - There is a lot of entertainment offered in the off-season, including tribute bands and shows at the Savannah and plays/shows at The Sharon and The Studio. As well as additional offerings.
Length of Stay - During the high season, the minimum length of stay is one month and it gets rented quickly. Sorry, it may not be available when you call us. During low season, we will accept one week minimum. Enjoy a cool golf, etc. vacation. You can travel to Disney from our rental home - it is about 1 hour & 15 minute drive but is do-able. This is still the case through November.
- October and November - the days are getting shorter but the beaches are a lot less crowded. Fall Polo Season at The Villages:
Fall Season: Mid September through the end of November
Spring Season: Mid March through the end of May - High Season (Jan. - Mar.) - plan well and you'll do fine in both tee times (use the 4-7 day tee time request) and restaurants (go early or late or off-site of The Villages).
- Entertainment - Our rental home allows you to have easy golf cart access to most entertainment venues - The Sharon, free nightly entertainment and good golf cart access to two town squares, Spanish Springs and Lake Sumter (take a car to Brownwood), Savannah, and Tierra Del Sol CC Restaurant. All three squares have free nightly entertainment. 'The Sharon' and 'The Studio' often offers top-name entertainment and is an easy golf cart ride from our rental home.
- Sports - There are lots of lovely nearby neighborhood pools to choose from. The nearest tennis, shuffleboard and bocce courts are at Paradise, Chula Vista, Santiago and Hacienda. Nearby Silverlake Rec Center offers billiards and a card room. You'll find pickelball at the nearby Chula Vista Rec Center. The Villages offeres free classes in shuffleboard, pickelball ++. There are over 1000 clubs that Villages residents offer for low to no cost ranging from hula dancing to swim aerobics to zumba to foreign film to sports leagues. And then there is golf. This is golf heaven with over 32 Executive courses and over 10 Championship full 18-hole courses (most with 27 holes).
